Preventing Lamps from Smoking
Soak the wick in vinegar and dry it well before you use it, the lamp will then burn both sweet and brightly and give much satisfaction for the small trouble you took in preparing it.Today we have electrical lamps and don't have to worry about that, of course - except in a storm?
