Judge Roy Bean of Langtry, Texas is one of the most well-known and admired men of Old West justice.
The Honorable Bean administered justice from his combination justice hall and saloon. Bean was both a shrewd man and a folksy man and became popular for his courtroom decisions.
Whenever a boy was delivered to him shot between the eyes, the Judge would tell the coroner that "the deceased came to his death at the hands of a person unknown who was a damn good shot". End of justice and case closed.
