The Case of Mistaken Identity

Dora Hand of Dodge City's Alhambra Saloon was said to have a smile that would kill any cowpoke on sight.  With her claim to aristocratic background from Boston's Beacon Street and an education in Germany, Dora was the steady girl of Dog Kelly, the first mayor of Dodge City.  Dog was also the owner of the Alhambra saloon, by the way, and was know to toss out any man who got too close to his Dora.

Enter Spike Kennedy, a wanna be beau of Dora, who late one night crept into Dog Kelly bedroom hoping to eliminate his rival (Rocky Racoon ring a bell?) Small problem - Spike did kill the occupant of the bed, but it was Dora who had spent the night with the Mayor, who had been called out to deal with other city problems just when Spike made his entrance.

Dora's funeral was a sensational event and burial in Dodge City's boot hill made her a rare kind of woman.  Kennedy on the other hand was never tried...maybe his punishment of killing his beloved Dora was enough?
