An Affordable Sign of Victory

The well digging wasn't as easy as we first thought. The first few holes we dug didn't result in any water. In fact, it took several months to find water deep enough for our well.

Well digging was back breaking work, but now that it is done, we need a way to pump that water to use for the farm's energy source. We bought the most reliable and affordable solution to the problem - a windmill! Our prairie windmill tower stands high above the farm and is our sign of victory over this unforgiving land in which we settled.

Next time, the wife takes over to share with you her side of pioneer farm life...
